Distinguishing between benign and malignant prostate tissue has now become easier with the development of a new machine by the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in Dresden. After taking a biopsy the sample is placed into the machine and within 1 and a half minutes a result is returned. The machine will tell you whether the sample is benign or malignant.
